WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Jeremy Genovese uses about six gallons of water a day at his home. He knows this because it doesn't just come out the kitchen sink. It goes through his hands.

The same goes for every pound of propane, every bit of waste. So goes the life of an off-the-grid tiny home resident on Firesign Family Farm, a dozen miles north of Ann Arbor in Webster Township.
